Beautycounter Brings Safe Cosmetics to Canada

Consumers are becoming much more informed and skeptical when it comes to beauty products—many searching for more natural options or those formulated without harmful ingredients. Santa Monica-based beauty brand Beautycounter launched earlier this month in Canada, making safer skin & body care items available online. Next month, they plan to expand their selection to Canadians with a beautiful collection of color cosmetics.

The brand develops safe cosmetics—strictly excluding more than 1500 harmful ingredients linked to cancer, hormone disruption, reproductive toxicity and other hazards that have been known to be found in some cosmetics (yikes)! They also have a commitment to producing high-performing, effective products—which is why it took over three years to actually create the cosmetics.

The products include a gorgeous array of eyeshadow duos, blush sticks, bronzers, lip colors, brushes and more, in addition to their already-loved cleansers, body lotions and oils. The shades are universally-flattering and intuitive, allowing for beautiful, everyday makeup looks that enhance your natural beauty.

The packaging is not only super cute, it reflects the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility as well. You won’t find any traditional plastic compacts here, instead you’ll see paper packaging that can be recycled. The entire line looks so luxurious—I actually had no idea it was all about safe formulation until I read the press release.

Beautycounter products can be purchased from their website. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite makeup and skincare items to give you a little shopping inspiration!
