One of the latest beauty emergency fix-its from the undeniably cute brand is the Benefit Fine-One-One ($30 USD / $36 CAD) cream blush & highlighter stick. This sleek, oblong stick (perfect for tucking away in your pocket or clutch) has a dial-up, sheer cream stick strategically divided into three different shades; champagne, pink and coral.

For a super quick complexion pick-me-up, all you have to do is dial up the stick a bit and swipe a stripe onto each cheek (with the champagne highlighter on top) and gently blend out with your fingers. I honestly didn’t think I was going to be a fan of this product when I first saw it… I thought it would be too sheer or not blend nicely, but I was totally wrong. I love this product!

Benefit states that this product is ‘sheer’, however it’s much more pigmented than what my definition of sheer is… I would say this is more sheer-to-medium in coverage, however it is very buildable so you can really get some great color out of it.

When blending it out, I found there are really two different techniques you can use… first is to blend slightly from the center outwards, both up and down, to preserve the color gradation from highlighter to blush.  You can also just blend in circles, like a regular cream blush, to mix all the shades together for an overall glowy coral blush. Either way, it’s easy and the results are fast and beautiful.

As with many cream blushes, this stick doesn’t last all day on my cheeks- I find that it tends to fade a bit, but the best part about this product is how easy touch-ups are. If you’re heading out after work or just need to touch up before a date, this stick makes it quick and easy for a gorgeous, instant flush. It works best on top of un-powdered skin, but in a pinch you can apply it on top of your finished makeup and it will still look great.
