All of the new launches for the new year are looking fabulous, including these adorable Benefit World Famous Neutrals Eyeshadow Kits ($30 USD / $36 CAD). These three limited-edition, Sephora-exclusive palettes each contain two Creaseless Cream Shadows and four Longwear Powder Eyeshadows in expertly coordinated shades and textures. These kits will be available in January 2013 at Sephora (they’re up online already, so keep an eye on them for when they become available)!
Benefit strikes again with adorable, creative packaging. Each palette looks like a deck of cards (and is just slightly larger than a standard pack- it easily fits in your hand) and comes with a mirror in the interior lid, as well as the signature Benefit Tips & Tricks How-To Cards (which are detachable, if you don’t want to keep them).
What I love about these kits is a little simple detail that I’ve been wanting to see from Benefit for a long time- removable inserts. Benefit is known for their packaging, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to re-purpose the cute compacts… so now after you’re finished with the products, simply remove the inserts and use it as a keepsake, jewelry or gift box! Genius!
Easiest Nudes Ever
The Easiest Nudes Ever palette includes two neutral cream shadows, R.S.V.P (a pale pink champagne) and No Pressure! (a bronzy taupe) as well as Call My Buff (a satin buttercream), Thanks A Latte (a shimmery bronzy taupe), Pinky Swear (a matte, pale pink) and Quick, Look Busy (a deep, matte espresso) Longwear Powder Eyeshadows.
This kit was designed to be the easy, fool-proof kit for someone who just wants to take the guesswork out of everyday makeup, whether its for the office or for going out for drinks with the girls. R.S.V.P is one of my all-time favorite cream shadow shades, and I’m pretty impressed with all of the powder eyeshadows.
Tip: If you have tired, red eyes in the morning, sweep Call My Buff from lashline to browbone. The yellow hue will correct any redness on your lids, and the satin finish will reflect light and brighten them up in seconds.
Sexiest Nudes Ever
The Sexiest Nudes Ever palette includes two contrasting cream shadows, Bikini-tini (a pale champagne) and Holy Smokes! (a charcoal grey) as well as Milk It! (a satin white), Raincheck? (a satin plum), Pause for Applause (a matte, pale rose) and Blingo! (a shimmery, icy blue) Longwear Powder Eyeshadows.
This kit is the one for the girl who loves the sultry, dramatic look. The colors aren’t exactly neutrals in my eyes (am I the only one that thinks purple, pink and blue are not neutrals?) but they are still beautiful none-the-less, and I love the combination suggestions that the Tips & Tricks cards make. Holy Smokes is very similar to Skinny Jeans, one of my favourite “instant smoky eye” products.
Most Glamorous Nudes Ever
The Most Glamorous Nudes Ever palette includes warm neutral shades, with two cream shadows, Birthday Suit (a light pewter- I just mentioned this product was my all time favorite cream eyeshadow) and My Two Cents (a copper bronze) as well as Call My Buff (a satin beige), Kiss Me, I’m Tipsy (a shimmery deep brown), It’s Complicated (a mid-tone pink with gold shimmer) and Gilt-y Pleasure (a shimmery golden bronze) Longwear Powder Eyeshadows.
This kit is similar to the Easiest Neutrals Ever, with just a step up in the color and saturation department. These shades are super pigmented and definitely more on the warm side. I think these shades also work the best together, however I would have preferred to see one matte shade (the light beige, preferably). This palette is definitely my top favorite out of the three!
- Price: $30 USD / $36 CAD each
- Availability: Sephora (January 2013)
- Overall: Benefit has really struck gold with these eyeshadow palettes. They are cute, portable and I love the shades chosen (except I don’t think I’d consider the Sexiest Nudes Ever to be ‘nude’ at all); I’ve been a huge fan of the cream shadow formula for a long time now, and the powder eyeshadows layer and blend nicely on top of them or alone as well.
