BITE Beauty Pastille Matte Crème Lipsticks

I’m a strong believer that everyone needs to own at least one BITE Beauty lipstick (even though you definitely will want more than one)- so why not start out with one of the new, limited edition BITE Beauty Pastille Matte Crème Lipsticks ($24 USD / $28 CAD)? This new matte formulation from the brand comes in four bright, vibrant shades inspired by French Pastille candies, and is available now at Sephora.

Why must everyone own at least one BITE Beauty Lipstick in their lifetime? Because they are lipsticks that you can not only feel good about wearing (they are made of 100% food-grade ingredients so technically they are edible) but they are also one of the most consistently high quality lipsticks I’ve found. Especially with these new Matte textures, the pigmentation is out of this world!

The shades include…

  • Pastille Rosebud: Scarlet red
  • Pastille Violet: Bright violet pink
  • Pastille Lilac: Vibrant fuchsia
  • Pastille Lavender: Sheer lavender

Each lipstick comes in a grey tube with the “B” logo engraved on the lipstick bullet. They smell slightly fruity and completely natural (because, well… they are). These lipsticks are more of a semi-matte finish in my opinion. They combine both the muted look of a matte lipstick with the creamy texture and nourishment of a hydrating lip color. They do have more sheen than the average Matte lipstick, but the comfort of your lips will thank you. If you really want that dry matte look, simply blot your lips on a tissue after applying.

One of these things is not like the other though- the shade Pastille Lavender is a sheer lipstick, while the other three colors are super pigmented and opaque. I do like it with a sheer finish becuase it is quite purple… so the light color gives it a more wearable finish.

They last four hours and feel super comfortable, however they do fade a little inconsistently (as most lipsticks do) so make sure to touch up after eating or drinking. You can feel good about touching up too, because each lipstick contains essential oils and anti-oxidants to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, so you’re also getting an anti-aging treatment with each swipe.
