Many haven’t even gotten over the excitement of Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche Lipstick launch—a range of 34 gorgeous, semi-matte lipsticks that just hit Sephora a few months ago—and they’ve already released a limited-edition collection of 6 more shades. I reviewed the formula and swatched all of the shades here but you may also remember my little sneak peek of a bold, green lipstick I saw being made during my tour at the Bite Beauty factory.
That little lipstick was part of their limited-edition Sweet & Savoury collection, which is now available. One of the benefits of creating their lipsticks in small, handmade batches is that they can quickly turn around new shades in a flash (and that’s exactly what they did with these six trendy hues).
The “sweet” lipsticks include Lavender Jam (electric violet), Taro (greyish amethyst) and Thistle (mauve-y taupe). The “savoury” lipsticks include Kale (deep hunter green), Whiskey (rich mahogany) and Squid Ink (blackened navy). These bold, edgy shades are incredibly trendy right now and while they may seem a bit intimidating, you’d be surprised how awesome they look when you rock ‘em with confidence.
I found the “sweet” shades to be a little more dramatic on the lips than they look in the tube. I thought Thistle was actually a soft pink, but it goes on with much more of a grey-ish mauve tone on the lips (didn’t do lip swatches this time around, but stay tuned—we have something special planned with these lipsticks coming very soon). With this collection, it’s go big or go home and every single shade is incredible.
The formula is the exact same as the original Amuse Bouche lipsticks (you can read my original review for all the details). For a quick recap: they are richly pigmented, super comfortable, have a satin-matte texture and smell like delicious citrusy goodness thanks to the fresh pressed fruit and edible oils. In typical Bite Beauty fashion, they are made with natural, food grade ingredients and are packed with antioxidants as well.
These six shades are limited-edition, so if you’re liking what you see—make sure to act fast before they are gone for good. Here’s hoping Bite will launch more color collections with this fabulous new formula!
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks retail for $26 each and are available online at Sephora.
