We’ve gotta admit it: Us beauty editors get pretty excited every time we catch wind of new products coming from Bite Beauty. So, when the Toronto brand’s founder Susanne Langmuir teased us last fall with a hint that lip liners were in the works, we were psyched.
Now, The Lip Pencil is finally here—and it was worth the wait.
The capped wooden pencils have the brand’s signature matte black coating, with a coloured tip corresponding to the hue inside. From beiges and taupes to roses and burgundies, there’s a whopping 22 shades, all inspired by natural lip tones. The shade names don’t directly correspond to Bite’s Amuse Bouche lipsticks, but you can check out the brand’s Instagram page for some on-point pairings.
The formula is packed with shea butter, making the texture supremely creamy—so much so that they’re practically ultra-skinny lipsticks. You could easily skip lipstick altogether and just fill your outline in with the pencil itself (most other pencils wouldn’t have enough slip to blend in seamlessly).
That said, the only downer to such a rich texture is that they aren’t as long-wearing as other offerings out there, and the tip softens easily so regular sharpening is key (try this one). But if you like the precision of a pencil without any tugging as you apply (plus loads of moisture), these are a dream.
Our fave is the rich beige 020. What’s yours?
Bite Beauty The Lip Pencils retail for $18 each and are available online at sephora.com and in Sephora stores.
