After 25 years, Bobbi Brown is turning a new leaf on her career and saying goodbye to her namesake cosmetics brand. The makeup line you have come to know and love isn’t going anywhere, of course, as Estée Lauder purchased Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in 1995 (when the brand was only four years old) and they are saying there are no plans to slow it down.

In many ways, Bobbi Brown helped to redefine the beauty world whether it was creating incredible products, teaching women how to enhance their best features and advocating for real beauty standards (Bobbi often used friends and colleagues in her ad campaigns).

I’ve been a fan of Bobbi’s products for years and I’ve always admired her signature look; defined eyes, rosy cheeks and nude lips. A few favorite products in particular to name: Skin Foundation Stick, Corrector, Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and the recently-launched Paris Palette, which I wore every day while traveling through France this Fall.

I don’t think it will be long before we hear her name again, though. Bobbi Brown apparently has a few new projects in mind she wants to explore in the future, but don’t expect it to be anything in the beauty industry (thanks to a non-compete with Estée Lauder). I’m hoping to see Bobbi expand her beautiful eyeglass range or publish a few more books. Whatever it is, I’m sure her expertise in the beauty indsutry and business world will lead her into something great.
