  • Step 1: Faux Glow

To give the overall illusion of a tan, I used St. Tropez One Night Only Wash Off Face & Body Lotion in Medium/Dark. You could use a self-tanner if you want a longer-lasting option, but this one is a great no-commitment way to go bronze. I used my fingers and applied it from the hairline all the way down to Alex’s chest. Don’t forget the ears—this will really make your skin look several shades darker.

  • Step 2: Skin Tint

I applied Rodial Skin Tint + SPF20 in Hamptons to Alex’s face to even out any blotchiness and give a light layer of coverage to match her new tan.

  • Step 3: Bring On The Bronze

Next, I used the new NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer with a foundation brush to add dimension and an extra bronzed effect to the skin. Make sure to bring this bronzer all the way down the neck as well and focus on areas that the sun would hit—the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheeks and chin.

  • Step 4: Conceal

To add some brightness back to the face, I used the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in shade R32 under the eyes, slightly downwards beside the nose and back along the cheekbones.

  • Step 8: Bronze Shimmer

I kept the eyes really simple with a sweep of shimmery, golden bronze eyeshadow all over the lid, softly blending it out in the crease. I used the fourth shadow from the left in the Shimmer Strips Extreme Shimmer Disco Glam Shadow & Liner palette in Bronze Nude. This eyeshadow is very sparkly, so hold a tissue or cotton pad under the eye as you pack it on with a flat eyeshadow brush to make sure you catch any fall-out and leave the concealer underneath undisturbed.

I lined the upper and lower lash line with the new MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner in the shade Long Espresso, which is a nice dark brown.

  • Step 10: Brighten Up

To add a pop of brightness to the eyes, I used the Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Soft Nude along the inner corner of the eye, blending outwards as well as in towards the lower lashline. Then I used the last shade from the Physicians Formula eyeshadow palette on top for a bright, white-gold shimmer.

  • Step 11: Dramatic Lashes

To finish off the eyes, I applied a couple coats of L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara to the upper and lower lashes. This formula is super black, so it really defines the lashes even with such a dark, bronzy look.

  • Step 12: Shake Things Up

To add juicy, sheer color to the lips, I used the new Lancôme Juicy Shaker in Freedom of Peach, available next month. This fun, deliciously-scented lipgloss allows you to control how much pigment you want to apply, simply by how much you shake it! I applied it to the lips with the sponge applicator and added a few layers for a bit more color.
