The Chanel Rouge Allure Moiré Collection for Fall 2013 includes eight Chanel Rouge Allure Lipsticks ($34 USD / $40 CAD) in beautiful, luminescent shades. This small collection features shades and textures inspired by flowing fabrics and ribbons; the “moiré” effect is a unique type of mother-of-pearl that boosts luminosity. The collection will be available September 23, 2013 on Chanel counters.
The two shades I have from the collection include 125 Indécise, a golden rose beige, and 132 Impulsive, a reddish pink (they actually go hand in hand with the nail lacquers I just reviewed here). These lipsticks have a beautiful, satin-like texture that gives them a gorgeous luminosity and reflection without looking too frosty. They each have medium coverage color and feel ultra smooth, hydrating and comfortable on the lips.
Out of these two shades, only Impulsive is limited-edition.
While not the most long-wearing formula, I felt quite comfortable and secure with them on my lips because the formula didn’t feel like it was going to migrate or bleed (especially with such a bold shade like Impulsive). I wasn’t too fond of how the reddish pink looked on my lips with my skin tone, but I absolutely loved Indécise! I think it’s going to make a fabulous everyday lipstick color for many, and I love how the rose gold tone makes your lips glow in a very modern, chic way.
