The Chanel Printemps Précieux Collection for Spring 2013 includes the Chanel Joues Contraste ($43 USD / $48 CAD) in Frivole, a stunning orange-corl powder blush. This collection combines playful shades with natural elegance and is available now at Chanel counters!
While this blush is promoted in this Spring 2013 collection, it is a permanent shade in the Chanel Joues Contraste line-up, so keep that in mind! This satin-texture blush has a lovely apricot orange hue and reflects light beautifully sans shimmer for an ultra-natural glow. While it looks slightly more orange in the pan, it goes on the skin with a coral pink hue that looks absolutely stunning!
This blush is so finely milled, it blends into the skin like butter and almost has the “look” of a cream blush, because it is so undetectable on the skin. It has a slight floral fragrance to it, which is actually quite nice! The included brush is super soft and great for touch-ups or applying for travel… but I’d stick to a regular blush brush for daily application because it is a bit small.
The formula is pigmented, yet with a really light hand, can be applied with a sheer finish for a slight glow. This is the exact type of color I reach for during Spring and Summer, and even though it’s a completely universal shade, I adore the way it looks on me with sun kissed skin. It lasts the majority of the day, but as with any powder blush I find that touch-ups are needed if you want a fresh glow for the evening. It’s a lovely tropical hue, and it has secured it’s place into one of my go-to blushes as of late.
