The Chanel Printemps Précieux Collection for Spring 2013 includes two Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks ($34 USD / $40 CAD) among the other five regular Rouge Allure lip colors. This formula has a satin matte finish. This collection combines playful shades with natural elegance and is available now at Chanel counters!
While these two lipsticks are promoted in this Spring 2013 collection, they are both permanent shades in the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet line. They come in a black tube with a gold, spring-loaded bottom. A slight push on the Chanel logo pops out the base of the lip color enough that it can be pulled out and twisted up to reveal the lip color.
The two shades of Rouge Allure Velvet include L’Éclatante, a stunning vibrant pink, and La Favorite, a gorgeous orange coral. Both shades have gorgeous pigmentation, offering a full coverage finish with just one swipe. The velvet formula has a light-as-air texture, leaving them feeling weightless on the lips with a satin matte finish.
They really feel dreamy and last for several hours on the lips. The only problem I experienced with them is that they really enhanced any flakes on my lips. Make sure to keep your lips well exfoliated and hydrated if you’re going to be using these lip colors. After about an hour, they started to feel a little dry… so they aren’t incredibly moisturizing. I do wish they were a little more comfortable on in the long term… but if you’re just wearing it for a short period of time you shouldn’t experience any discomfort.
