The Chanel L’Éte Papillon de Chanel Collection for Summer 2013 features the Chanel Lévres Scintillantes Glossimer in Zéphyr ($29.50 USD / $31 CAD), a pale peach gloss. This limited-edition collection features bright, vibrant shades inspired by the colors of fluttering butterflies. The collection is available online now and will be on counters May 13, 2013; you can follow along with my coverage of the collection here!
There are a few products that I believe every beauty lover needs to own at some point in their life, at least once. The Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimers are one of them, and this gorgeous shimmery peach shade in Zéphyr is a great choice. The limited edition color comes packaged in the classic Chanel tube that looks just as elegant as it does on the lips.
The color payoff is a sheer-to-medium pigmentation, so even though it is quite pale it does kiss lips with a hint of a peachy tint. The sparkle is ultra fine and adds a super glamorous effect that really brightens up the lips. The texture of the gloss has substance to it, but it isn’t sticky or tacky at all, yet it stays on the lips for hours. They are like a comfortable version of MAC Lipglass. The doe-foot applicator is easy to use and the gloss applies like a dream. It’s definitely one of my favorite lipgloss formulas, which is why I believe they are totally worth the splurge.
I can tell already that this peachy shade is going to look stellar with a summer tan, but if you’re craving a tad more color than just check out the other two limited-edition shades in the collection. The best part about this gloss? I haven’t met a single shade I didn’t love… so whichever you chose, I know you’ll love it.
