Charlotte Tilbury has always been obsessed with glowing, radiant skin (even as the matte skin trend came and went). Realizing that a healthy, sunkissed glow is basically what everyone strives for these days, Charlotte created her #GLOWMO range (like FOMO for glowing skin), including a few new products and glow-boosting essentials from her existing line-up.
I actually had the chance to sit down with Charlotte Tilbury herself in NYC a few weeks ago and chat about the collection, which obviously made me that much more excited to try everything out.
First, let’s chat about the exciting new launches, which include two unisex, glow-boosting skincare products as well as a stunning, all-in-one makeup palette for creating a warm, sunkissed look. She’s also bringing back a fan favourite lipstick shade you’re definitely going to want to pick up as well.
The Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask is a hydrating, nighttime moisturizer laced with a tiny bit of self-tanner. The nourishing formula is packed with skin-loving ingredients to reduce redness, deeply hydrate and soothe irritation, plus the added touch of self-tanner means you’ll wake up with a hint of natural-looking colour (but the formula itself is untinted so it won’t transfer onto your pillowcase).
While it is technically a “gradual” self-tanner, it did have a noticeable effect after just one use (although is was very subtle). I kept using it for a few nights in a row to build up the colour I wanted and now I only use it every couple nights to maintain my sunkissed look.
The Unisex Healthy Glow Moisturizer leaves skin with a similar sunkissed effect as the overnight mask, but it doesn’t actually contain any self-tanner. Instead, this formula has encapsulated bronzing pigments that are released as the product is applied, leaving skin with a slight hint of warmth (it also evens out the skintone a little bit). This is the one product that isn’t available just yet—it’ll be available at the end of June so at least you don’t have to wait long.
There’s a reason why Charlotte decided to make this moisturizer a bit deceiving… she knew most men wouldn’t want to use a product that was already tinted because it would seem too much like makeup. Wanting to create a product that both men and women would love to use (and being as clever as she is), she decided to encapsulate the pigments so the product looked more like a regular lotion.
It totally worked, too—she told us she gave samples out to a few male friends of hers to test and they kept asking for more. When she asked them what they liked about it, they told her they weren’t sure exactly why, but it just made their skin look “really, really nice.” Go figure, boys.
The collection also features The Beauty Glow Palette, an all-in-one palette featuring three eyeshadows (champagne, rose gold and chocolate brown), two blushes (one dusky rose and one soft pink) as well as a bronzer and highlighter (which are actually the same shades as her best-selling Filmstar Bronze & Glow duo).
The palette is designed to create a beautiful, sunkissed look that leaves you looking radiant, youthful and of of course—glowing. If you’ve seen Charlotte’s other Instant Look in a Palette collections, I’d say this one falls somewhere inbetween the two in terms of intensity.
It can definitely be worn softly for a subtle, daytime look or it can be built up for a special occasion (she was actually inspired to make this palette by the look she created for Poppy Delevingne’s wedding). It’s my favourite of the three and probaby the most versatile in my opinion.
While it isn’t exactly new, the Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk is still definitely something to get excited about. The shade first launched as a lipliner and then was released as a limited-edition lipstick. It’s now back by popular demand and I’m so happy I discovered it.
When I was chatting with Charlotte, she told me to put it on (even though I didn’t think it was a shade I would normally go for, when Charlotte tells you to try something you do it without question). So, to my surprise, I fell in love with the rosy pink shade and have pretty much been wearing it ever since that day.
It is, without question, the closest lipstick I’ve ever found to my natural lip colour. It essentially just enhances what I’ve already got and makes my lips look fuller and more youthful—like the rosy lips I had when I was six years old. The creamy matte texture is incredibly comfortable and that is coming from a girl who doesn’t even really like matte lipstick.
There are a bunch of other amazing, glow-boosting products in Charlotte’s #GLOWMO edit—check them all out here. I highly recommend pairing these products with her amazing Legendary Lashes Mascara and The Classic Eyeliner in Audrey—two of my must-haves that really help to complete the entire look.
So if you’re ready to see what all of these babies can do together… get ready, the before and after below is pretty darn shocking.
BAM. Thank you, Charlotte.
If you’re curious to see exactly how I created this look, I did film a video tutorial so you can check it out here.
