You can pretty much count on us getting crazy excited over anything Charlotte Tilbury launches, but sometimes there’s a particular product that makes our hearts flutter just a little bit more than usual. That’s exactly how we felt when we first laid eyes on the new Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette ($75)—it’s like a complete eyeshadow wardrobe all in one slim, sexy golden palette.
The limited edition eyeshadow palette—which was available for a quick 24hr pre-sale back in September—has officially landed at counters and online for everyone to get their grabby hands on. It features 12 eyeshadow shades broken down into four, easy-to-create looks (for a surprisingly amazing value, too).
The palette boasts being able to create looks that can take you from “day to desk to date to disco,” in order of boldness and smokiness, while also including shades that work for any eye colour.
Essentially, it takes the guesswork out of eye makeup and offers an à la carte menu of looks, whether you want something soft and simple or you want to go full-on glamourous. It’s perfect for anyone who travels often or is looking for a trusty, go-to palette for every and any occasion (um, who isn’t looking for that?).
The Day Look incorporates light and fresh tones for an easy, low-key makeup look with a combination of cream, shimmery neutral brown and a matte taupe shade. The Desk Look ups the ante a bit with shadows in pink champagne, chocolate brown and warm caramel shades for a look that’s there, but not too in-your-face for the office. The Date Look (by far our favourite look in the palette) has a sexy, sultry appeal with shimmery mauve-cocoa and chocolate shades that create a flattering, feminine smokey eye. Lastly, the boldest of them all, the Disco Look is all about that “rock chick look” à la Charlotte Tilbury with a trio of champagne-gold, gold lamé and rich black shadows.
The formula features a “control-pressed” formula which is designed for less eyeshadow fallout, giving you more precision and control as you apply it. All of the shades are quite blendable and buildable, although the shimmery textures did make more of an impact than the matte ones.
Here’s a close-up of each “look” and you can see swatches of each shade at the bottom of this post.
Of course, if you feel like living on the edge (hey, Charlotte would probably encourage that kind of “naughty” behaviour), mix and match shades to create your own “daring” in between look. For example, the “Smoke” shade from the Disco Eye trio works great as an eyeliner for any of the other three looks.
Charlotte loves simplifying beauty looks and making them totally attainable, which is why this palette would make a perfect holiday gift for any beauty lover on your list this year (…yes, that includes you too).
