I can’t believe it’s been a week already since our huge Holiday 2011 photoshoot! Time sure flies… I thought i’d talk a little bit about it because I know that some of you are always curious to see what happens behind the scenes. I thought Pascale & I were biting off a little more than we could chew, booking 10 girls in 2 days, but I’m happy to say it was a great success and right after Halloween is over we’re going into full Holiday mode! I made this totally cheesy “behind the scenes” video to give you guys a glimpse of what you can expect. The set-up was for photography and not filming, so be warned its not the brightest and best quality ever. Also, feel free to laugh the whole time- I did as I edited it (thank goodness for cheesy iMovie effects)!
Christmas is my favorite time of the year…I feel like its the one holiday that lasts. The spirit of the holidays is already popping up in stores and soon enough we’ll be seeing Christmas lights on houses outside (I’m going to search for a cute little Charlie Brown Christmas tree for my apartment). I feel like its such a joyous time of the year and I LOVE Christmas shopping! Anyways- back to the photoshoot! We did 6 “Christmas” type looks and 4 “New Years Eve” type looks and I loved the fact we had models of different skin tones and ethnicities! Hopefully lots of you will find it inspirational as well.
We snacked on fruit & veggie platters, and my mom even brought over homemade cookies (gotta love moms)! After I was finished the makeup, I’d pass out into my “dead doggie” position, as Pascale liked to call it and she’d take over with the photos. It pretty much consumed our entire weekend- but it’s totally worth it. The photos are looking fantastic already and while Pascale has hundreds and hundreds to go through, she always does a fantastic job of picking out the best ones for the site!
So having said that- do you see any looks in the video that you’re especially excited to see? What types of articles do you want to see as well…Tutorials? Before & After? Technique-focused?
This weekend I’m taking it easy- getting back to speed with posting and preparing for all the Holiday posts that will soon be coming out on BEAUTEZINE. We’ve got lots planned to help you make the most of the holiday season! I’m also off to go see In Time tonight- quite intrigued to see what a world where time is a commodity looks like! What are your plans this weekend? Going to any Halloween parties? I’d love to know what my readers are up to :)
Take care my lovelies!
