My Charlie Brown Christmas tree & lights :)

My Charlie Brown Christmas tree & lights :)

I can’t believe that Christmas is only a week away! I’m so excited!  You can see my first Christmas tree- my parents bought it for me and I fell in love with it. It’s a true Charlie Brown Christmas tree, and it goes so perfectly in my small apartment! Stacey did a holiday tag video and she tagged me, so I thought that I would answer the questions here so if you’re interested about my holiday traditions then here we go!

1) Which holiday do you celebrate?

I celebrate Christmas!

2) What are you doing for the holidays this year?

I’m spending Christmas Eve at my parents’ house- we always have perogies and tourtiere (French meat pie) for dinner because we like to combine both sides of my family’s heritage (Ukranian & French).  We go to a special Christmas Eve service at Church, then come home and light a fire, get into comfy PJs and open presents!  The next morning I’m heading off to my boyfriends’ parents’ place for the morning and afternoon, then I’ll be coming back for Christmas turkey dinner with my family. I’m really excited!

3) What’s your favorite holiday drink?

Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice… it just tastes like Christmas!

4) Candy cane or Gingerbread men?

Mmmmm both!

5) What’s your favorite holiday/Christmas song?

I’ve been addicted to listening to Michael Buble’s Christmas album lately, but my favorite songs over all are O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know and We Three Kings… when I was younger and used to play musical instruments, these were always my favorite songs to play at Christmas!

6) What’s the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?

I really have the worst memory in the world, and I can hardly remember any gifts that I received (except for a few monumental ones of my childhood, like getting a Furby).

7) Have you ever made a snowman?

Of course! I grew up in Saskatchewan in the prairies, and we got a LOT of snow.

8) What is your favorite winter fragrance?

Peppermint… hands down!

9) What is at the top of your list this Christmas? (or whichever holiday you celebrate!)

This year I’m asking Santa for a Kelly Moore bag- it’s basically a fashionable and functional camera bag made for women photographers.  I really don’t have anything to carry my equipment with (being at NYFW really made me realize this) so that’s a priority.

10) What is most important to you about the holidays?

Spending quality time with my family, sharing excitement, good food and never forgetting the true meaning of Christmas!

Please feel free to answer the questions in the comments below too! I’d love to hear your answers :)  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

I am also looking forward to lighting a fire and just enjoy it with my sweetie :) But first we’ll do some cooking and bring it over to my parents and celebrate Xmas there, which is going to be a tiny bit of a challenge because my brother’s brand new girlfriend is vegan and we are cheese en dairy-loving vegetarians LOL But we’re up for the challenge!

Oooh Love tags! Here are my answers:
    1) Which holiday do you celebrate?
I celebrate Christmas. It’s probably my favorite time of year.

    2) What are you doing for the holidays this year?
I usually fly back home to be with my parents, grandma, uncles, aunts and cousins. This will be the first year and spend Christmas with my boyfriend and his family. I’m very excited!

    3) What’s your favorite holiday drink?
Hot chocolate. I love it, especially when it’s thick and creamy… The darker the better, I love the bitterness!

    4) Candy cane or Gingerbread men?
Where I live there’s not really a tradition of eating either one. But I’m going guess it’s Gingerbread men =P

    5) What’s your favorite holiday/Christmas song?
*Opening Winamp in my Christmas playlist* Probably White Chistmas. It’s both Christmassy, traditional and beautiful. Fills me up with Christmas spirit =)

    6) What’s the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
Hummmm… I wouldn’t say it is weird because it was a Secret Santa gift and people didn’t know who they were buying the gift for. With that said I got a pack of cigarettes… Only, I don’t smoke =P

    7) Have you ever made a snowman?
I did! The whole family spent Christmas in a chalet type hotel where it didn’t usually snow. Only that year, it did! So we got to build snowmen, have snow fights and then go home and warm up by the fireplace. Perfect memories =)

    8) What is your favorite winter fragrance?
If I take out the smell of all the baking going on everywhere, I’d have to say the my favorite fragrance during winter time is either pine or something nice and spicy, like cinnamon.

    9) What is at the top of your list this Christmas? (or whichever holiday you celebrate!)
This is the most difficult question of all. There’s nothing I really, really, really want this Christmas. Well… I’d really, really, really like to get my hands of RSVP kit by Bare Escentuals but the site doesn’t ship to my country and the carriers that I’ve contacted charge a ridiculous price for shipping. If not that I’d have to say that I already got my hands on some much wanted Benefit goodies the other day and I’m a happy, happy camper!

    10) What is most important to you about the holidays?
For me it is spending time with the people that matter most. Sometimes we get so caught up on our own lives and what needs and must get done that we forget that in a second everything can change. And the people we’d like to be with might no longer be there.

I love to answer this tag! We should totally have one after Christmas and New Year’s to tell everyone how were our Holidays =)

    Merry Christmas everyone!
