What’s Hot: Cleansing Conditioners

Cleansing Conditioners aren’t exactly new, but what was once only seen on TV infomercials (who else remembers this one?) has now gone mainstream, with drugstore and salon brands alike hopping on the bandwagon and launching formulas for different hair types.

Cleansing Conditioners differ from traditional shampoos by leaving out the detergents and stripping-ingredients that can leave hair dry and brittle. They also contain little-to-no sulfates (like SLS) which means they don’t lather—a sensation we typically associate with “cleansing” but isn’t actually necessary. They are much more gentle and offer extra nourishment, making them a great choice for those who have extremely dry or damaged hair.

You can use Cleansing Conditioners exclusively or in-between regular shampoos to give hair a bit of a break. I’ve rounded up six new formulas to check out if you’re thinking about giving co-washing a try!
