This Spring, Clinique is all about new pops of color for eyes, lips and cheeks. Clinique’s Cheek Pop quickly became one of my all-time favorite blushes, so the addition of these new Clinique Lid Pops ($17) had me pretty darn excited.
These eight eyeshadows join the new Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour, Pop Lacquer Lip Colour and Pop Oil Lip & Cheek Glow–all of which are launching between now and February.
Right now, I want to focus on these gorgeous Lid Pops—because they look just as gorgeous on the eyes as they do in the pan. Each Lid Pop has the same embossed flower design as their iconic Cheek Pops. The texture is very similar to the MAC In Extra Dimension Eye Shadow or NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow—it’s a creamy powder that glides on almost like a gel, offering fantastic pigmentation and a beautiful, smooth application.
The Lid Pops come in eight shades—Vanilla Pop (creamy beige), Cream Pop (champagne), Petal Pop (rose gold), Grape Pop (purple), Aqua Pop (teal blue), Surf Pop (royal blue), Willow Pop (khaki green) and Cocoa Pop (brown). All of the shades are quite shimmery, but I found Vanilla Pop and Cocoa Pop to be the least metallic out of the group. The lighter shades are also a bit more subtle and have a slight sheerness, while the deeper colors have more of an intense payoff.
These slow-baked eyeshadows basically melt onto eyelids, giving them a super smooth (and never chalky or powdery) finish. They are great for those concerned with crepiness or dry eyelids, and they really lend a gorgeous pop of color and texture to the lids. Long-wearing yet super lightweight, these gorgeous shades are definitely going to be getting a lot of use this upcoming Spring.
Clinique Lid Pops are available now at Sephora. Let me know which colors are calling out to you!
