Essie Sleek Stick Collection for Spring 2013 Review, Photos & Swatches

I’ve had these new nail appliqués from the Essie Sleek Slick Collection for Spring 2013 sitting on my desk for a little while now, and I couldn’t wait for the new year so I could share them with you! This Spring, Essie is trying their hand at the hottest trend in nail art right now- nail wraps. Each set comes with 18 appliqués (9 different sizes) and they are available in 12 gorgeous designs. The collection launches in February 2013 (but you can already buy them online here).

These are the Lamborghinis of nail wraps. Not only are these appliqués pre-cured under UV light for that chip-free, high-shine gel manicure look, but the patterns are stunning, easy to apply and conform to the nail beautifully. They are everything you want a nail wrap to be. I will admit I was totally stingy with the swatches simply because I wanted to be able to enjoy these wraps on my own (something I usually wouldn’t consider for a press sample, but I hope you’ll understand and forgive my selfishness)! I actually love every single one of the patterns; they are so sophisticated and classy. Sometimes I stray away from the nail wraps just becuase they can be a little tacky or crazy… but these are incredibly feminine and chic. I wouldn’t agree with the 14-day wear time, because I did experience a little lifting after about 3 days. Perhaps with a clear top coat, they might last longer, but as is I wouldn’t say the UV cured finish helps as compared to other nail wraps. They are much more thin and easy to apply than similar 3D nail appliqués like the Maybelline Fashion Prints or Kiss Nail Dress; these conform to the nail bed beautifully and easily shape to the free edge.

A great quick manicure in seconds that looks beautiful, but you’re definitely going to pay for the convenience of it. Each kit comes with a nail buffer and cuticle stick, as well as easy-to-follow instructions for application. They’re great to have on hand for last-minute manicures for a special event or party. My favorite designs include Over The Moon, Embrace The Lace, Love To Love You and Glam It On (but really come on, they are all my favorite).
