Way before I discovered argan oil–infused hair creams or rich clay masks, I stumbled upon one of beauty’s most iconic ingredients while going through my grandma’s stuff: rose water. To me back then, it was a pretty bottle containing a lovely smell. Now that I’m a beauty editor, I know that rose has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, too.
Delighting my nostalgia, Fresh is launching their new Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner, an amber-hued liquid that contains real bits of rose petals (much like its mask counterpart, the mega-popular Rose Face Mask). The toner comes in a clear glass bottle so that the pretty flower fragments are on full display, making it a keeper for your vanity/Instagram feed.
As the last step of cleansing, this toner is designed to be used after you wash your face. The directions say you can use it on a cotton pad or your fingertips, but we find the former to be less messy, and more satisfying because you get to see the impurities that you wipe away.
Of course, this formula contains soothing rose water and the Rose line’s signature rose fruit extract, which helps refine pores, but Fresh also added moisture-boosting rose oil, angelica leaf extract and hyaluronic acid. With its double-whammy of bringing back sweet memories while also leaving my skin feeling supple, I’m happy to say I will accept this rose.
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner retails for $44 and is available to purchase online at sephora.com.shop this story
