March 22, 2013 is World Water Day, which also kicks off the start of this year’s Giorgio Armani Acqua for Life Campaign. Giorgio Armani has been partnering with the Green Cross since 2011 to promote access to safe drinking water to communities in Ghana and Bolivia. It’s hard to imagine not being able to simply turn on a tap when we want fresh, clean drinking water, but so many people in this world just don’t have that same luxury.
There are ways you can help- for every specially-marked package of Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio ($99 CAD for 100mL) for men and Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia ($70 CAD for 50mL / $96 CAD for 100mL) for women, Giorgio Armani will donate 100 litres of safe drinking water. Bringing awareness to a cause such as this is also incredibly important, which is why Giorgio Armani will also donate 50 litres of water to communities in need for every “Like” they receive on their Facebook Page starting March 22, 2013 and running for two weeks. Whether you purchase the fragrances, Like their Facebook Page to show support or spread the word about this amazing campaign- every single action helps to bring safe water to those in need.
Since the campaign started, 92 million litres of drinking water were provided to Ghana and Bolivia. That’s huge! The impact has been tremendous, but still, millions of people die every year from lack of clean water; 4000 children die every day from this cause. That’s why this year, Giorgio Armani has targeted the campaign efforts to build a rainwater harvesting system in each school as well as provide health and hygiene education to the benefitting families.
Please take a moment to spread the word about this life-changing campaign, and participate where you can to help bring safe, clean water to those who need it so desperately!
