As anyone who has ever tried a cronut knows, when two good things come together (in this pastry example, donuts and croissants), the result is way more magical than the sum of its parts. If you follow that logic, you’ll get why we’re psyched about Hourglass’s new Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush.
Fans of the brand already know that its main M.O. is creating a lit-from-within glow, with products that mimic a wide array of lighting styles—something Hourglass focused on long before the current strobing craze. Now, the company is marrying the illuminating abilities of its Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder with four gorgeous blush hues.
The resulting Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush line offers a seriously glowing flush. Launching at the same time are two new shades of Ambient Lighting Bronzer—more on those below.
Like all Hourglass compacts, the new blushes and bronzers come in sturdy cases with built-in mirrors. Inside, the powders feature the brand’s signature two-tone swirls, with veins of the highlighting powder criss-crossing throughout the blush/bronzer hue. They’re handmade using an Italian mixing technique called miscelare, so no two look the same.
While most of the blushes are new in their individual form, we have seen them in the past. Incandescent Electra (which unfortunately we don’t have to swatch) blends cool peach and opalescent Incandescent Strobe Light and is already available as part of the original Ambient Lighting Blush line-up. The three other shades have made their own appearance in the brand’s limited-edition Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette.
Brilliant Nude is a deep amber mixed with the golden Brilliant Strobe Light highlighter. Euphoric Fusion is a soft lilac paired with its namesake pearly Euphoric Strobe Light. Iridescent Flash combines bright magenta blush with soft pink Iridescent Strobe Powder. Finally,
For bronzer, two new shades round out the existing range, one with a bold, radiant finish and one with a much softer finish (great for light skin tones).
Diffused Bronze Light is a cool-toned bronzer mixed with the sunny Diffused Light Ambient Lighting Powder. It’s much more intense than it may look in photos thanks to its radiant finish.
Nude Bronze Light has a soft neutral bronzer laced with the Nude Light Ambient Lighting Powder for a subtle bronzing effect.
All of the new additions feature Hourglass’s photoluminescent technology, which diffuse light for a soft-focus effect. The textures are incredibly soft, with ultra-fine shimmer. They’re great for anyone who wants to make sure their highlight game doesn’t veer too metallic.
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush ($45) and the new hues of Ambient Lighting Bronzer ($63) are available online now at sephora.ca.
