I’ve been curious about these Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duos ($38 USD / $44 CAD) for a long time now, I’ve just heard so many rave reviews about them! I was excited to try out this one, in the shade Dune and see for myself.

This eyeshadow duo contains a light, antique beige frost and a shimmery olive green with gold sparkle.  Beige and olive green are one of my favorite combinations together, so that was already a bonus!  The eyeshadow formula is incredibly luxurious- pigmented, buttery, blends like a dream… it’s really fantastic.

Odd packaging…

The packaging is a little odd- the top flips up like normal, but it also twists around 360º, which I don’t really understand the point of… but it doesn’t bother me. It also comes with a mini brush… not a sponge applicator, but a brush- and it actually works well!  This is one included applicator I won’t be tossing.

I didn’t experience any creasing with these shadows, but I would always still recommend using a primer first to get the most out of them. The price tag is hefty, but if you find a duo you’re in love with, the formula is totally worth the splurge.
