I'm in the May 2012 Issue of ELLE Magazine!

Hey guys! Just wanted to share an exciting little piece of news… I’m in the May 2012 Issue of ELLE Magazine! I never thought in a million years I’d see myself in the pages of a magazine, let alone a huge one like Elle!  So even though its not a personal feature (and let’s forget they also spelled Beautezine wrong)… I’m still super excited to be a part of this Olay Mother’s Day ad alongside four other awesome bloggers!

In case you can’t see what it says, Olay asked us “What beauty advice did you learn from your mom that makes her your beauty by example?“, and my response was “My mother always taught me that less is more. She showed me how to enhance my natural beauty rather than covering it up.”  Now its your turn! I’d love to know all of your answers! Let me know in the comments!

    That’s awesome! Congratulations!

My mom introduced me to the world of neutral makeup. I used to be really into crazy color… Not in the good way, either, but in the middle school don’t-know-how-to-use-this way. It was sooo bad, my mom hated it! I don’t wear much else, now, which is funny :)

Congrats, that’s so cool! You deserve it :)

My mom never really gave me any advice when it comes to makeup…she let me experiment and learn for myself what works and what doesn’t work. She never told me I was doing anything “the wrong way” (even when I used to darken my crease with a single swipe of eyeliner a la Twiggy. Yikes!!). And actually, I really appreciate that now. I like that she let me be myself and play with different looks. It taught me not to be afraid to try new things!

My mom is somewhat anti-makeup (only on REALLY special occasion she will wear anything) so I had to learn everything on my own. lol

ELLE is the only magazine I subscribed too (outside of graphic design ones) as it has a great mix of advertising and articles. I try to love FLARE but it’s just no happening for me.

My mom taught me that make-up doesn’t have to be used with the purpose of hiding totally your imperfections but it is more useful to enhance your beautiful features. Congratulations Jessica! :)
