Lancôme will be launching their newest fragrance in August 2012, La Vie Est Belle ($72 CAD for 30mL). I’m not usually one to do fragrance reviews- but I fell in love with this one so I had to share a bit about it. This new feminine, floral scent is right up my ally (I’m not so much a sweet or fruity fragrance kinda girl), and I just thin the bottle looks so elegant.
The face of the new fragrance is none other than their ambassador Julia Roberts (who we’ve seen as the star of several Lancôme campaigns in the past), a perfect fit. The fragrance is supposed to embody joyful femininity and radiance, and even the bottle was created to suit the aura of the fragrance (free of any images and also resembles a smile at the heart of the crystal square).
I must admit, I wasn’t head over heels for this scent at first sniff… but after wearing it for a few days, it really did grow on me (the same thing happened with my current favourite perfume). It’s a little heavy for summer, but something I know I’ll enjoy wearing in the fall and winter months.
It’s floral, feminine and soft- so if you’re attracted to the similar types of fragrances that I am (such as Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb and Philosophy Amazing Grace), then I think you’ll want to give this one a try. The ribbon detailing on the bottle is also so pretty!
Personally, I don’t mind the logo-less bottle, but I do see how some people might wish to have it on there. I do wish that the fragrance lingered a little longer- I love the scent and I’d like to be able to smell it throughout the day, but I really only could get a couple hours of noticeable scent (even with someone else smelling me). Hopefully they release a rollerball or travel version for my handbag!
Summary
- Price: $72 CAD for 30mL, $95 CAD for 50mL and $105 CAD for 75mL
- Availability: Lancôme (August 2012)
- Overall: This scent wasn’t love at first sniff, but it sure grew on me an has now become one of my favourites. I think it will be perfect for fall! The fragrance is soft, floral and feminine- the exact scent that I love. If you’re attracted to the same sophisticated scents, you may want to give it a try too! Didn’t last as long as I wish it had because I do love the scent, so I hope they release a rollerball or travel version too.
