The Lancôme In Love Collection for Spring 2013 includes four Lancôme Baume in Love ($26 USD / $30 CAD) lip balms; two pinks (one not available in Canada), one orange and one violet. The entire collection is filled with juicy pinks, spicy corals and fresh blues & purples that whisk you off to a tropical beach in an instant. Available February 2013 at Lancôme counters (but it is already available online here).
All of the shades are limited edition, except for this one in shade No.110 Urban Ballet, a beautiful bright pink. This lip balm is just that- a lip balm, so even though it looks neon pink, it goes on incredibly sheer with just a hint of color. The packaging looks almost identical to the regular Rouge in Love lipsticks, and there is really no scent to them.
I would compare this lip balm to the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy (check out the one I just reviewed here); it glides on super smooth with no stickiness or tackiness at all, it leaves a sheer hint of color and it feels incredibly moisturizing. It also leaves a gorgeous, gloss-like shine! It doesn’t last too long on the lips, as most lip balms don’t… but it’s easy to apply (despite looking like a bold lipstick- it glides on pretty fool-proof because of it’s sheer finish).
While it is a great product, you have to consider if the price tag is worth it, considering you can get the same glossy shine, moisturizing feel and hint of color from some products that are much more affordable, like my new obsession, the Maybelline Baby Lips. It really is just a lip balm after all- but I have to admit, a part of me totally loves the transluscent hot pink bullet!
If you get it, you’ll love it. If you don’t get it, you probably won’t miss it too much… so I’d recommend checking it out in store to see if it’s a must have for you! Personally, I love it, because I am fascinated with lip products that look crazy in the tube, but go on subtly on the lips… so this is right up my alley!
