The Lancôme In Love Collection for Spring 2013 includes the limited-edition Lancôme Blush In Love ($49 USD / $52 CAD) available in two shades; one peach and one pink, each with gorgeous embossed detailing. The entire collection is filled with juicy pinks, spicy corals and fresh blues & purples that whisk you off to a tropical beach in an instant. Available February 2013 at Lancôme counters (but it is already available online here).
This gorgeous blush in shade No.20 Pommettes D’Amour features a bright pink blush base with a small amount of peachy-pink in the center. The powder is beautifully embossed with a slight hint of shimmery overspray (which disappears quickly) as well as the Lancôme In Love logo. When blended together, the powder gives a gorgeous pink hue (the peach is quite small in comparison to the pink, so it still has a predominantly-pink blush shade on the skin).
The compact is interesting and very different from typical Lancôme blushes. It seems to be made out of sturdy cardboard with a magnetic closure. The interior mirror also has a tab on the side which allows you to pull the mirror out. I’m not entirely sure what the purpose of a removable mirror is… but perhaps it could be functional for some reason! The powder is also much larger than usual, containing 8.5g of product as compared to the usual 5.1g in the original Blush Subtil palettes.
The color is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s quite pigmented for a powder as well. I would say it’s a medium-coverage blush, in comparison to other blushes I’ve tried. It has a beautiful satin finish that looks natural. I’ve been wearing this blush a lot lately, reaching for it often (especially since finding out that Kerry Washington wore it to the Golden Globe Awards)! I feel like it’s a very universal, feminine shade and perfect for Spring and Summer.
It is quite substantially more expensive, due to the increased product weight, so that’s something to keep in mind. The only thing I found a little disappointing is that it doesn’t stay on the skin as much as I would like it to- it’s good for everyday wear, however if I am going out at night after a long day, I find that I have to reapply it to re-intensify the color.
