The Lancôme In Love Collection for Spring 2013 includes four Lancôme Color Design Infinité 24H Eye Shadows ($24.50 USD / $28 CAD) in striking, vibrant shades. The entire collection is filled with juicy pinks, spicy corals and fresh blues & purples that whisk you off to a tropical beach in an instant. Available February 2013 at Lancôme counters (but it is already available online here).
I have one of these limited-edition shades in No.400 Boundless Blue, a beautiful silvery blue with a metallic, opaque finish. These eyeshadows are a long-wearing, almost moist formula (which is why they look like they come in a cream eyeshadow pot, with a plastic stopper to retain moisture in the product.
It reminds me of the texture of a mineral pigment when a bit of mixing medium is added- it gains opacity and creaminess while remaining a powder. It’s incredibly pigmented, but can be “tapped” on the eyelid for a sheer wash of color if desired. It’s truly a fantastic formula!
I adore this shade. It’s the type of blue that I would recommend to someone who wants to try wearing blue eyeshadow, but is terrified of looking like Mimi. It’s a greyish blue with a silver reflection, and it brightens the eyes while providing a wash of color. It’s totally flattering, easy to apply and really does last all day without creasing!
The only downside to these eyeshadows is that they contain so much product, that it’s probably rare to actually get through the entire pot before it dries out- especially with a blue shade that typically won’t be worn each day. It’s an important consideration when looking at cream and cream-powder hybrids like this one, if you’ll get enough use out of it because inevitably, it will dry out.
