I smell SO good right now.  I can’t stop diving into the new, limited edition Laura Mercier La Petit Patissarie Trio ($45 USD) in Almond Coconut Milk (also available in Fresh Fig).  The trio contains three miniature sized products from Laura’s decadent Bath, Body & Fragrance collection, including a body wash, body lotion and eau de toilette.

The Packaging

The bath & body produts come packaged in metallic silver tubes (which are incredibly difficult to photograph, by the way!) and the fragrance comes in a tall, skinny glass bottle.  Both the body wash and body lotion look almost identical- so make sure you’re reaching for the right one! The trio looks elegant and luxurious all together, and I think it would make a fantastic gift for birthday or Mother’s Day coming up soon!

The Products

All three products are scented with Laura’s signature Almond Coconut Milk fragrance which I would best describe as the most delicious-smelling tanning lotion mixed with a fresh dessert. It has the coconut scent of the tanning lotions I would slather on at a beach resort, but also with the almond in there, it reminds me of my mom’s baking. The scent itself is very natural, not fake and artificial like many sweet-scented bath & body products.  It is quite strong though, and if you’re not a fan of sweet scented products then you definitely won’t be going for this one.

Crème Body Wash

This product is a semi-translucent thick liquid that lathers beautifully and is highly scented. It really makes showering an incredible experience!  It left my skin soft, but not very hydrated (I’m very picky with body washes as very few have every left my skin comfortable without lotion afterwards).  The scent also disappeared quite quickly after hopping out of the shower, which is good for those who love to indulge but don’t want to smell like dessert all day long.

Soufflé Body Crème

This lotion wasn’t as thick as I would have imagined- I was expecting more of a body butter but this was quite a thin lotion.  It absorbed really quickly into my skin and left it hydrated and super smooth.  Again, highly fragranced and the difference with this product is that the scent lingers a long time.  It also leaves a stunning radiance to the skin, although there is no ‘shimmer’ in it, I found my skin to simply glow. The scent was a little too strong for me with this product, so I probably would only wear it on vacation.

Eau Gourmande

My absolute favorite product! I was think that this fragrance would be scented just as strongly and sweetly as the other ones in the trio, and smell too strong like some of the sweet fragrances at The Body Shop… this one was much more subtle, and a lot more sophisticated. This is the type of scent I would wear daily in the summer.  It definitely still smells like almond and coconut, but in a much more softer way. I’ve never been great at describing scents, so all I can really say is that this is much more appropriate and wearable.

• Overall: A super decadent and delicious-scented trio. The body wash is an incredible experience, but doesn’t linger (or moisturize that well). The body lotion is super hydrating and leaves my skin so radiant, but it is very heavily fragranced. The eau de toilette was my favorite piece, having a much more sophisticated and soft fragrance that is wearable for everyday. A fantastic birthday or Mother’s Day gift!
