Lise Watier has recently launched a beautiful summer color collection! It’s the Lise Water Summer Sunset Collection for Summer 2012, and its all about bronzed, healthy-looking skin with a hint of color and a splash of a fresh, floral fragrance. If I were to put together a summer collection, it would look a lot like this one. I love the the orange & hot pink themed packaging on the fragrance and palettes! Speaking of palettes, I reviewed those a while back here, but now that I’ve played with the rest of the collection I’ll share my thoughts on the other items (I’ll try to be as brief as I can, it’s a big collection)!
Duo Glam Rouge Infini
The Lise Watier Duo Glam Rouge Infini Lipstick Duo ($27 CAD) in Rose Ombré Glam is a unique lip combination! It looks like a lipstick and gloss pair, but really it is a 2-step process that starts with the liquid stain; afterwards, apply the lipstick on top and it claims to last up to 8 hours. While I don’t doubt that claim- it made my lips dry up rather fast, so while I do love the delicious scent of the lipstick and the beautiful look, I wouldn’t be able to wear it all day long without a gloss on top.
Speaking of gloss, the Lise Watier Crystal Drops ($18 CAD) in Dragon Fruit is the perfect topper! This sheer, juicy hot pink gloss smells like Jell-O and looks awesome! Its not sticky at all and feels great. I love the color so much though, I wish it was more pigmented!
Everyone already knows I’m a huge fan of eyeshadow pencils- they are so quick and convenient, and the Lise Watier Crayon Jumbo Long-Lasting Waterproof Eye Light Shadow ($19 CAD) in Sunshine is definitely one of my favourites! It glides on so nicely and the pigmentation is awesome (especially for such a light shade)! It has a pearly reflective texture, so it brightens your eyes instantly.
The Lise Watier Nail Lacquer ($12.50 CAD) in Dragon Fruit is absolutely stunning… I just can’t get enough hot, popsicle pink shades this summer! The formula is great, with only two coats needed you’ve got bright, opaque color. The applicator is unique too- there’s a light in the cap to help you see better, but honestly I found it just a bit distracting. Unless you’re painting your nails in the dark, I’d skip the cap light. I’ll definitely be sporting this shade a lot this summer!
I’m all about trying to find a new summer fragrance, and I’ve been finding myself reaching for the Lise Watier Summer Sunset Eau de Toilette ($55 CAD) quite often! I’m a total feminine & floral fragrance kinda girl, so this one is right up my alley. The best way I can describe it- is that it shares the same floral scent as St. Tropez Self-Tan Mousse, just without the self-tanner smell. It’s quite lovely and really puts me in a great mood! I wouldn’t say it’s one of my favourites (I’ve got some tough, long-standing competitors to beat out for that top spot), but its a nice change for the season. Plus the bottle is adorable.
This chemical-free Lise Watier Sun Smart Tinted Universal UV Shield ($39 CAD) has an SPF 30 and is oil-free and paraben-free. It’s tinted to even out the skin tone, while protecting all skin types. I was a bit scared of it, because the color was much darker than my skin tone, but it worked really nicely and evened out my complexion while giving me a sun kissed color (just make sure to blend it down your neck too). My skin felt comfortable and smooth- I’ll be using this one a lot this summer! Great for a day at the beach.
The bottle may look cool, but the real magic of the Lise Watier 3-in-1 Miracle Primer ($35 CAD) in Bronze is inside; there are two tubes, each with a separate pump, one containing a clear silicone-based primer to mattify the complexion and even out skin texture while the other contains an illuminating bronze tint. You’re supposed to mix them together in the palm of your hand before applying (a bit redundant, I’d rather just have the two pre-mixed in a tube already). It goes on so sheer, I can really barely see the bronze tint (it might be better for someone with lighter skin… or just use 2:1 bronzer to primer for more coverage). It’s oil-free and does to a great job of keeping my skin nice and matte.
The oversized Lise Watier All Over Baked Bronzer in Havana is a huge compact with a melange of bronze, beige and touch of hot pink. It’s meant for face and body and does have quite a lot of shimmer to it (so be prepared for glowy skin). It is the perfect bronze shade for me though! It looks so natural, and even though I usually go for a matte bronzer for my face, I’d definitely use this for my chest, shoulders and a bit on the face too. The compact is a little ridiculously big, it doesn’t have to be so bulky, but I’ll get past it because the formula is great.
