A Look At The New Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Palettes

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Palettes

Not long ago, Urban Decay shocked beauty lovers when they launched their brand new 100-shade Vice Lipstick range. They’re making our jaws drop again with these two gorgeous Vice Lipstick Palettes launching as part of their Holiday 2016 lineup.

The two palettes, Junkie (a cooler, brighter palette with more pinks and purples) and Blackmail (a warmer palette with more neutrals and reds) each contain 12 lipstick shades in a sleek, metallic compact.

Each palette also includes a retractable lip brush and extra large interior mirror, making each palette fabulous for endless lip options for travel.

The palettes have a plastic guard that rests on top of the lipstick wells, which is great for keeping them clean and also doubles as a mixing palette to create your own custom blends if you’re feeling creative.

The formulas are absolutely amazing, but I’ll let you check out my original review on the Vice Lipstick range here (this post is also a good refresher on the differences in textures).

I love seeing variety in color and texture in each palette—both contain an array of matte, cream, shimmer and metallic shades. What I don’t love so much is the repetition between the two palettes. With a collection of 100 shades in the full Vice Lipstick range, I feel like the two palettes should have been totally distinct for those who want to pick up both, yet Big Bang, Firebird and 714 are found in each.

While I would have personally preferred separate palettes for specific shade families (ie. a “nude” palette, a “bright” palette, an “edgy” palette), the mix of both subtle and daring shades helps to push you out of your comfort zone and get creative with lip color.

The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Palettes retail for $35 each and are available online now. The Junkie Palette is exclusive to Sephora and the Blackmail Palette can be purchased online at ulta.com.
