In celebration of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, L’Oreal Paris (the Official Sponsor of TIFF 2013) has created a beautiful, star-studded line-up of luxurious nude L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolours ($10.99 CAD), each inspired by one of L’Oreal Paris’ celebrity faces; Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto & Jennifer Lopez. The collection also features nude nail polishes for each celebrity and will be available September 2013.
These lipsticks come in special-edition packaging, with a matte, black tube (which feels like NARS packaging) and gold detailing. Each lipstick also features the celebrity’s signature on the tube as well.
The shades include…
- The Doutzen Nude: Pale, slightly frosted baby pink
- The Eva Nude: Warm, mid-tone nude
- The Freida Nude: Cool, mid-tone violet nude
- The J.Lo Nude: Light, neutral beige
I was surprised with how sheer they really were; similar to a glaze-type lipstick, each one was transluscent enough to let the natural lip color show through and only slightly tinted it. While I do wish they were a little more pigmented, I do believe this makes them a little more universal and easier to wear. While one shade might suit a particular skintone the most, I actually love how all of these shades look on me, and I think they would all work for a variety of skin tones as well.
They feel great on the lips, however they only last about 2-3 hours before needing a touch-up because they are so glossy and sheer. They are fool-proof to apply and I love the glossy sheen that each of them has. I thought that I was going to love Doutzen most, however after trying them all out, I’m definitely a fan of J.Lo the most! It makes sense though, if anyone knows how to rock the perfect nude lip, it’s J.Lo, right?

I think this collection is absolutely beautiful! I love how it showcases all the different tones and shades of 'nude' and how they can not only work for different skintones, but how different skintones can wear several different nude shades. They were a little lacking in pigmentation, but I think that made them a lot more universal and easy to apply. They don't last too long on the lips either, but they are super comfortable. J.Lo is definitely my favorite!
