LUSH always comes out with the most adorable holiday bath & body goodies ever- the fun shapes, the delicious scents… sometimes these little bath bombs, bubble bars and soaps are even more of a treat than chocolate (and that’s saying a lot). Not only are all LUSH products fresh and handmade, but they are sold without packaging to be as eco-friendly as possible. Here’s a few of there latest goodies for Easter, which is right around the corner!
Carrot Top Re-Usable Bubble Bar, $7.95
The first thing I noticed with this bubble bar was in the name… “re-usable”. I didn’t exactly know what that meant until I read how you are supposed to use it. LUSH Bubble Bars are one of my favorite treats… these solid bubble bath products are usually crumbled under running water to create mounds of glorious bubbles that smell amazing and soften skin really well. Packed with carrot oil which is rich in vitamins, this bubble bar is no different in terms of skin-soothing qualities.
The scent is pleasant, I don’t really know how else to describe it. It’s not over-powering, slightly fruity with a hint of carrot, but overall really nice (I don’t like overly strong scents in anything really). The product is ‘re-usable’ because you are supposed to hold the carrot by the “leafy greens” and swirl it around in the running water to create bubbles. While it works, I find it much easier to crumble it… less work, more bubbles (and because of it’s long carrot shape, it’s quite easy to just break off a chunk…but I wouldn’t use this for more than 3 separate baths).
The Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb, $12.95
My poor egg didn’t make it through the shipping process in one piece… my Humpty Dumpty (which I nicknamed it) was already broken when I got it, but not so badly that you can’t tell what it is. This large egg-shaped bath bomb is actually two treats in one- the outer shell is a bath bomb and there’s another little surprise inside (another bath bomb in the shape of a chick or bunny…to be honest, I’m not sure which mine was because it didn’t really look like much after its shipping ride, haha!). I think it would have been nice to see a different LUSH product inside, like a bubble bar or something like that, to give a bit of variety.
Each egg shell is good enough for one full bath, plus the extra mini bath bomb too- so you’re really getting a great value for your money with this one! It smells super fruity and fresh, like a fizzy grapefruit and citrus drink! I love LUSH Bath Bombs the most… I’ve never had such a soothing and moisturizing bath in my life before trying out these. Plus they are so fresh, you feel totally rejuvenated afterwards.
Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb, $6.95
This super jumbo bath bomb smells of Snow Fairy shower gel- a super sweet candy scent that many love, but I find it to be almost too much for my nose. It’s incredibly sweet, so keep that in mind when thinking of who this is for. Probably great for younger teenagers or those that typically love sweet scents (I know my mother wouldn’t like this one…), I know that the candy scent sure has it’s good following though.
This solid egg is a little more difficult to split baths, so it’s probably best to just indulge in the whole bath bomb at once. Still, it leaves you skin super soft, moisturized and probably craving something really sweet.
Summary
- Price: Carrot Top Bubble Bar ($7.95 USD / $7.95 CDN), The Immaculate Eggception Bath Bomb ($12.95 USD / $12.95 CDN) and Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb ($6.95 USD / $6.95 CDN)
- Availability: LUSH
- Selection: See the full collection here
- Overall: The Carrot Bubble Bar has a soft, pleasant scent and gives off amazing bubbles (when crumbled… swirling was too much effort to get the amount of bubbles I wanted). Even though The Immaculate Eggception is the most expensive, it has the best value because it’s really good for three baths. It smells super fresh- perfect for Spring. Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb is great for those that love the super sweet candy scent of Snow Fairy… great for those who love sweet scents, but too much for me. Love both bath bomb and bubble bar formulas from LUSH- two of my favorite bath time goodies!
- Rating: Carrot Top Bubble Bar (A-), The Immaculate Eggception (A), Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb (B because of the scent, A for the actual product).
