MAC Kissable Lipcolor in Enchantée Review, Photos & Swatches

Published On February 12, 2012 | Reviews

Continuing on with my little lip splurge from the latest MAC Shop MAC Cook MAC Collection which just launched last Thursday is the MAC Kissable Lipcolor in Enchantée ($19 USD / $22.50 CDN).  I’ve owned Woo Me in the past (forget which collection it was, but it surprised me and was one of the few MAC lippies I actually finished before it expired) and I had always regretted not picking up Enchantée. I made sure to pounce on this unique lippie, so let’s check it out!

The Packaging

Again, with the adorably fun and colourful sleeve, this lipstick comes in an extra long tube (which I think is SO sleek and gorgeous, I wish all their lipsticks came in this tube).  Taking off the sleeve reveals the tradition black & white MAC packaging box.  The tubes look almost exactly like the old ones, except these have an extra black band near the cap on the actual tube… not sure why they added it but hey, it’s still gorgeous!

Having an extra long doe-foot applicator definitely doesn’t make the application easier, in fact, it makes it a little harder as you lose precision.  After just a few applications though, you’ll get the hand of it no problem!

The Product

The MAC Kissable Lipcolors are very different than any other product MAC has.  They are very much a liquid lip color to me, as they have a slight sheen but aren’t glossy at all.  In fact, they actually feel a little more dry than you’d expect from a liquid product, and have the look of a lipstick once applied.  It’s a little harder to smell the traditional vanilla scent, but its there.

They feel incredibly smooth on the lips, not sticky, tacky, goopy…that’s probably why they are called “Kissable” lipcolors. They do transfer though, so that makes the name a little confusing.  I’ve heard some complaints from other readers that these liquid lipcolors feel really drying on the lips, however I really haven’t discovered this.  I think people either love them or hate them, it’s just that kind of product.  I only picked up one out of the five from the collection; Enchantee is a light, cool pink with light-to-medium coverage.  Definitely noticeable, but a very slight and subtle baby pink nude lip.

The price is significantly higher than regular lipsticks/lipglasses from MAC, but you are getting 5g of product instead of 3g, so it’s understandable.  If you like checking out unique and different formulations from MAC, then you may just fall in love with these! I know I only purchased Enchantée, but I’ve owned Woo Me before and I totally recommend that color for a gorgeous nude beige lip too.

Summary

  • Price: $19 USD / $22.50 CDN
  • Availability: MAC
  • Overall: A unique and interested lip formulation from MAC- a smooth and creamy lip color in a sleek, long tube. Wearable, light-to-medium coverage and a super comfortable (although some argue they are a tad drying)… I loved them before and I’m loving them again! Not a fan of the price hike, but you are getting more product than usual.
