This Fall, MAC has launched their most intense lipstick ever. MAC Liptensity is a new lip color formula that delivers supersaturated, true-to-color payoff with a creamy texture. If you’re into bold, opaque color then you’re going to love this new lipstick.
First, you’ll notice the packaging looks different from MAC’s traditional Lipstick. These lipsticks have color-coordinating caps and a slanted bullet shape (similar to MAC’s Huggable Lipstick formula). They do still have the signature vanilla scent that we all love though!
The new Liptensity collection was created in collaboration with Maureen Seaberg, a tetrachromat with a gene that allows her to see 100x more colors than the average human eye. She helped MAC tweak the colors to make sure they stayed true in all light (SO cool).
The range includes 24 shades (I have 21 of them to show you here) that include earthy neutrals (lots of options for the brownish “Kylie lip” lovers), classic colors like pinks and reds and a couple unconventional shades like grey, black and blue. Liptensity is formulated with a clear base, which allows the colors to appear true-to-color on the skin.
- Doe: Neutral brown
- Smoked Almond: Rose brown
- Toast and Butter: Peachy cinnamon

- Mulling Spices: Burgundy brown-red
- Marsala: Deep magenta
- Medium Rare: Soft pink (not pictured here)
- Gumball: Blush pink

The texture is very interesting. The lipstick feels a bit dry and “drags” on the skin with the first swipe or two, but after a few seconds of warming up it glides on almost like a liquid lipstick (with the same color payoff, too). It has a slight sheen, but I found it dried down to more of a demi-matte finish with quite a comfortable feel.
You’re definitely going to want to pair these up with a lip pencil though. I found they feathered a little bit around the edges of the lips and the lack of a pointed tip means sacrificing a bit of precision.
MAC Liptensity retail for $21 each and are available online at maccosmetics.com.
