MAC Summer 2013 Pro Longwear Bronzers Review, Photos & Swatches

MAC Pro Longwear Bronzers

The MAC Temperature Rising Collection for Summer 2013 features two MAC Pro Longwear Bronzers ($30 USD / $36 CAD) in natural, sun-kissed shades with a hint of shimmer. This limited-edition collection features shades and textures inspired by a steamy, nocturnal summer night. The collection will be available online May 16, 2013 and will hit stores May 23, 2013 (North America), May 2013 (International, excluding Asia) & June 2013 (Asia); see the full collection here!

Most of the pieces in the collection feature a limited-edition, dark matte brown packaging. The texture feels a little bit like NARS packaging, with a slightly rubbery feel. It’s a really nice, chic addition to the collection but unfortunately MAC hikes up the prices of the items because of it. So the biggest question is probably if these are worth the higher price than MAC’s regular bronzers. The answer? Yes.

The two shades in the collection include Sun Dipped, a dirty-red toned bronze and Nude On Board, a warmer yellow-toned shade. Both shades are pretty similar in depth and darkness, but just vary slightly in their undertones. Both have a very slight hint of shimmer- nothing very noticeable or even enough to add a glow, but just a hint so skin isn’t matte.

The texture is fantastic- super finely milled, silky and like a dusty powder when sweeping your brush into it. Not chunky or chalky at all… just velvety smooth that blends on the skin really nicely. They also hold up to their Pro Longwear name, and stay on from morning to night, so you look like you just got back from a weekend at the beach all day long.

I prefer Sun Dipped over Nude On Board, just because I find it to be a little more natural looking on my skintone. Nude On Board looked a little yellowish… slightly too warm… but it really will vary based on your undertones. Which ever you choose- you’ll be sure to have a beautiful, bronzed complexion all summer long regardless of the heat, humidity and long days.

Bring it on, summer!
