As someone with an incredibly strong scent memory (one that is way better than my actual memory), Maison Margiela’s REPLICA collection has resonated with me for years. The fragrance line was created to reminisce on specific scent memories, like the clean cotton scent of Lazy Sunday Morning, the salty scent of Beach Walk and the smokey, boozy scent of Jazz Club.
This Fall, Maison Margiela is launching two layering fragrance “Filters” in Glow and Blur, to further enhance and customize the existing scents (or your own, of course). These two olfactive filters are actually dry oils which are applied prior to spritzing on your fragrance. Like an Instagram filter does to a picture, these fragrance filters add a new dimension to the scent while still staying true to the heart of the original blend.
Glow adds radiance and energy to your perfume. Think of the fresh, dazzling scents of Neroli, Grapefruit and Bergamot. This filter adds a vibrancy to your scent for a great pick-me-up or to brighten a scent like a sunny afternoon brightens your mood.
Blur softens your perfume. This filter is a sophisticated blend of Clean Aldehyde, Jasmine and Musk to blur any fresh, bright notes and create a hazy, delicate and comforting scent.
Layering fragrances might not be a new concept, but this interesting approach to “filtering” scents is an intriguing new way to customize your perfect perfume.
Maison Margiela REPLICA Filters retail for $55 each and are available online now at Sephora and will be in stores this September.shop this story
