My first thought when I saw the new Make Up For Ever Eye Prime ($22 USD / $25 CAD) was “really? they didn’t have an eye primer until now?” Apparently not! They’ve recently launched this sheer, nude base (really though, it goes on clear), to help hold eyeshadow all day without creasing and to intensify its colour.
Eye primers have very much become an assumed part of makeup routines by many beauty bloggers- sometimes we need to take a step back and remember that not everyone might use one! When it comes down to it…if you wear eyeshadow, you should probably think about investing in an eye primer. They can take a $3 eyeshadow and make it look like $30 one.
This eye primer comes in a long, sleek tube with a doe-foot applicator. It reminds me of Urban Decay Primer Potion in look, feel, texture, wear & results. It really seems like the exact same product to me. It doesn’t really intensify my eyeshadows per sé, but it makes them look better throughout the day and keeps them from fading. It also keeps even NYX Jumbo Pencils crease free (the ultimate creasing test)- so your makeup will look fantastic from morning until night.
If you’re been wanting some UDPP with an applicator like this, then maybe try it out! You’re getting a little less product than UDPP, so if you’re happy with your primer then stick with it.
- Price: $22 USD / $26 CAD for 0.18oz
- Availability: Sephora
- Overall: A pretty nice eye primer; in fact it looks, feels, and works just like the already-famous Urban Decay Primer Potion, keeping eyeshadow budge proof and crease-free all day. It comes with a doe-foot applicator, so if you’ve been looking for one like that, you’re in luck, but you’ll be paying a little more for it.
