The new Marc Jacobs Beauty cosmetic line includes the Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen ($39 USD / $47 CAD) in 9 brightening shades. Marc Jacobs Beauty will be available exclusively at Sephora and Marc Jacobs stores on August 9, 2013 and is inspired by the spirit of youth, confidence and experimentation.
The concealer pen came in a long sleek tube with click mechanism (sort of like a mechanical pencil) to release the product. It’s similar to the YSL Touche Eclat, except this pen features a metal, slant-tip applicator instead of a brush. It’s cooling to the touch which feels nice on the skin under the eyes but isn’t very precise, so I prefer to tab a brush into the product and apply it from there.
I have the shade 0 Bright Idea which is a pale pink to be used as a universal highlighter. It can be used under the eyes to conceal or elsewhere on the face to brighten, like the brow bone, bridge of the nose, cheek bones, cupids bow and more. It’s very pink, so it works really well as an undereye corrector with someone with a similar skintone to me. The shade actually reminded me really well of my favorite Bobbi Brown Corrector, and it really helps to cancel out any blue-ish under eye circles.
The formula is quite liquidy and thin… very similar to the YSL Touche Eclat, in fact. The pigmentation is decent (not the best, but fairly good), but because the formula is so thin it really spread out a lot. I would say it offers medium pigmentation, but it can definitely be layered to get a more full coverage finish. It’s brightening and radiant without being shimmery and it looks very natural on the skin. My biggest problem with it (which is also my big problem with 99% of concealers out there) is that it creased a lot on me. I have creases under my eyes that concealer tends to gather in after about 20 minutes of wear, so i’m pretty certain if you have fine lines it would do the same. The only concealers that I have found to date that don’t crease on me are MAC Pro Longwear and IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereyes.
If you’re a fan of YSL Touche Eclat and you find that most concealers don’t crease on you, then I’d recommend giving this one a try.

This shade is a great universal highlighter and shades many of the same qualities as the YSL Touche Eclat, so if you like that product, you'll probably like this one. It did crease on me under my eyes, so unfortunately I won't keep using it as a concealer but I will continue to use it as a universal highlighter
