Milani Brow Tint Pens

Brows are one of the most important defining features (don’t believe me? Check this out!) and not everyone was blessed with perfectly groomed, full brows so Milani has released a brand new product this season to help out! It’s the Milani Brow Tint Pens ($5.99 USD each) shown here in shades Natural Taupe and Dark Brown. Let’s check them out!

The Packaging

The pens both come in plastic packaging with cardboard background, similar to most drugstore eyeliners and mascaras.  The brow pens really look like felt tip markers (that’s kinda what they really are..) with super fine tips.  Make sure to keep the caps on tight so they don’t dry out too fast!  Super convenient, handy and easy to use!

The Product

The brow pens leave a thin hair-like stroke from the precise felt-tip point- the formula itself is very liquidy.  It’s really quite fool proof- use the pens lightly to mimic hairs to fill in eyebrows to provide depth of color and filling in sparse areas.

Two things that I realized when using these pens- make sure not to press too hard (or you’re going to make a thick line)… stay focused, because after doing many lines you can go into auto-pilot move and accidentally draw on a line way too thick. Stay soft, wispy and light-handed!  They work fantastic to fill in sparse areas, but aren’t the best for “creating” eyebrows in areas that there are none (such as extending the end of the eyebrow) unless it matches the color of your real eyebrows perfectly. With only two shades, you’re bound to be one or two shades off, even though the Natural Taupe and Dark Brown shades should fit quite a large majority of brow shades.

Also- keep in mind this pen really doesn’t do anything to groom or hold the shape of your brows!  I really love these pens- my shade is definitely Dark Brown.  I like using it to add a bit more depth and fullness to my brows! The swatches may look like they are bleeding a bit into the cracks of my hand- but this really must just be the texture of the skin on my hand- it didn’t do this on my eyebrows at all!

Summary

  • Price: $5.99 for 0.04oz / 1.1mL
  • Availability: Milani Cosmetics
  • Selection: Available in Natural Taupe and Dark Brown (both shown here)
  • Overall: A great, easy-to-use brow pen that creates thin, hair-like strokes with ease.  Be careful while applying to keep the thin hair-like stroke and be aware they will not groom your brows; only provide depth and color to fill in sparse areas.
