Autumn Monochrome

Autumn Monochrome Makeup Look

We’re always looking for ways to make more time in the morning (more time to sleep that is) but cutting out your makeup routine doesn’t have the be the answer. Efficiency is key and using multi-tasking products for eyes, lips and cheeks is an easy way to speed things up.

I created this Fall look that only uses 6 products and 2 brushes, all of which can fit easily in a tiny makeup bag. The end result is beyond gorgeous and looks like it took a lot longer than just 5 minutes to apply (3 once you’ve got the hang of it).

  • Even out the complexion with The Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation ($28) and the included sponge (I used shade No.2 on Alex). The formula feels lightweight and looks just like skin yet still covers any blemishes and redness. It’s also buildable, so you can layer it as needed and it leaves the skin with a healthy, hydrated glow.

Brighten under the eyes and hide dark circles with the Bobbi Brown Retouching Wand in Extra Light ($53). This magic wand has a sponge tip applicator which allows you to apply and buff the product into the skin for an airbrushed finish—plus it’s great to throw in your purse for touch-ups afterwards.

Make sure to apply it to the eyelids and buff all the way up to the brow bone to even out the skin on the eyelids and remove any redness or visible veins.

I used the BITE Beauty Multistick ($28) in the shade Biscotti for this look because I found it to be one of the most flattering shades for eyes, lips and cheeks, but you’re welcome to choose any shade in the lineup since they are all designed to be used anywhere on the face.

I used a fluffy blending brush and picked up some cream directly from the stick then softly buffed it into the outer corner and outer crease. A little goes a long way, so blend well and add color slowly! The product is made with 35% powder, so it blends easily and layers well. I kept the color just to the outer corner of the eye since it is a bit reddish in tone and wouldn’t be as flattering across the lid.

To define the lashline, I applied the new NARS Velvet Eyeliner ($29) in Black Moon to the upper lashline and softly smudged it with my pinky finger. This eyeliner formula works great for a soft, smoky look because it smudges nicely without looking messy and patchy.

Finish off the eyes with a few coats of Covergirl Katy Kat Eye Mascara ($8.50) to upper and lower lashes for tons of volume, length and definition.

Fill in brows and groom into shape with Benefit Gimme Brow ($30), my all-time favorite tinted brow gel. Alex already has great, full brows so she doesn’t need a lot of filling in and this tinted brow gel is perfect for her. Plus, it stays inline with the quick & easy theme of the look!

Here’s where the magic of the BITE Beauty Multisticks come in! Grab a larger brush (one that is dense, but not too fluffy, like a small kabuki brush) and sweep it over the top of the Biscotti stick. I pounced the brush a little bit on the back of my hand before applying it to the apples of the cheeks to make sure I didn’t apply a ton of color right away. Softly blend the color into the cheeks and blend towards the hairline.

Finally, apply Biscotti straight from the tube onto the lips (or you can use a lip brush if you feel as if the bullet isn’t precise enough). Voilà—you’re finished!

Notice how the multistick looks slightly different on the eyes, lips and cheeks yet they all just work harmoniously. Try it out and let us know how it works for you!
