If you’re looking for instant results in the skincare department, few things can transform your complexion as quickly as a peel. That’s because dead cells prevent light from reflecting off the surface of your skin, which translates to a dull, tired look.
Eager to bring glow back to our winter-weary faces, we’ve been leaning on peels to slough away dead cells. A favourite discovery? The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel—one of the most satisfying we’ve tried so far.
Inside the tall green pump bottle, the clear gel-like formula looks deceivingly plain. No tiny seeds or granules that we typically associate with at-home exfoliators. But when you massage the liquid onto dry skin, it begins to form tiny little balls of product which help lift away impurities in the process.
It sounds a little gross, but seeing those balls form is strangely gratifying—kind of like sucking up a big pile of dirt when vacuuming the house. Afterwards, it left our skin feeling incredibly soft, and ready to better absorb our moisturizer.
This peel is part of the Drops of Youth range, so it packs the line’s signature anti-aging trio of plant stem cells from edelweiss, sea holly and criste marine. If brightness is more your concern, there’s also the Drops of Light Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel (only available in Canada), and a Vitamin C one coming later this year (already in the U.S.).
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel retails for $25 and is available in stores and online now at thebodyshop.ca.
