The secret is out. All of those nail polish swatches you’ve seen on Beautezine? Not my real nails. Beautiful, strong nails wasn’t something that I was born with- mine are incredible petite, brittle and thin… so when it comes time to do nail polish swatches for the site, I always reach for some good old press-ons! I loved the length and shape of my nail when I used them (plus they make for much prettier swatches)- but I wanted to have those pretty nails all the time!
Yesterday I said goodbye to my stash of press-ons because I am a total convert to Bio Sculpture Gel nails now! I’ve been wanting to get gel nails for a long time now, and I’m so happy I finally got them! I wanted to go with gel over acrylics because it’s so much better for your nails (it actually makes them stronger- no damaging them) and I think they look more natural. They are also removed by soaking off, not by filing away.
These nails are different from the gel polish systems that are available to the public- these provide much more strength and are applied at a salon. You can either have them filled, or removed and re-applied. I chose to get sculpted extensions to make my nails look pretty, but as my natural nails grow out I hope to simply get a gel overlay to keep them strong and chip-free in the future!

2) My nails after 2 days of using Bio Sculpture Gel Nail Treatments
3) My nails with a Bio Sculpture Manicure with extensions
My before and after is quite amazing- I had brittle, thin, peeling nails that would chip and break the moment any free edge started to show. I started using some of Bio Sculpture Nails treatment products before my manicure, and I wanted to show just how much more healthy my nails looked after only 2 days of using the treatments. I used the Vitamin Dose, Lavender Base, Cuticle Conditioner and Cuticle Oil. Lastly, my final manicure- I chose to simply have a single coat of a pale beige color over the entire nail (instead of french) so they look totally natural.
They look and feel completely like my natural nails (just much more strong). Typing isn’t a problem, and even after building some IKEA furniture last night (which usually would mean breakage of every nail), my nails look perfect! They can be filed down like natural nails as they grow, and I’ll be heading to the salon in three weeks to get them filled.
Make sure to look for Bio Sculpture Gel (the actual brand name, not just a generic ‘bio gel’ title) at your local spas and nail salons!
