My Eyelash Perm Experience & Results

This weekend I headed to the spa to get my eyelashes permed (yes, you heard that right).  My poker-straight lashes have always been a struggle for me, not only because I have to fight with removing waterproof mascara on a daily basis, but also because I felt I couldn’t properly review many of the mascaras that I received (and really wanted to try)!

If you have super straight lashes like me, you’ll know that the only thing that will keep a curl is a waterproof formula (which is also super hard to remove at the end of the day).  I really wanted to be able to ditch the eyelash curler for several weeks, try out all the awesome mascaras that have been sitting on my desk for weeks now, and show you guys the results.

I’m very happy with my perm!  The service cost me $60, took about 40 minutes, and lasts about 4-6 weeks (they say), but it really depends on how fast your eyelashes replace themselves (my last eyelash perm lasted almost 3 months).  Not only is it easier to apply and remove mascara, but my lashes just look longer than ever before, even when I curled them with an eyelash curler.  Not all salons offer the service, so you may have to look around for one that offers it in your area.

In the before photo, you can see my straight, bare lashes are hardly visible. In the after photo, I used the new Lancôme Hypnose Star Mascara, and that’s it (didn’t even need an eyelash curler)! It’s definitely not the most pleasant spa service I’ve ever had, but to me it’s totally worth it! It feels like I just discovered lashes I never knew I had!
