The NARS x Guy Bourdin Collection for Holiday 2013 includes the NARS One Night Stand Blush Palette ($65 USD / $72 CAD), a gorgeous palette with a bronzer, a highlighter and an array of blushes. This limited-edition palette is available now at Sephora (exclusively online). See the rest of the collection here.
For any blush lover, this palette is an absolute must-have. It contains exclusive and iconic shades alike, and they are quite decent-sized pans as well (they are each about the size of a single NARS eyeshadow). The elongated compact features the Guy Bourdin design on top of the compact and has a large, full-size mirror inside. It’s quite big, so while it’s not something you would keep in your purse, it would make an amazing travel buddy on long-haul trips where you’ll want a few options.
The palette includes:
- Devotee Highlighting Blush: Alabaster glow
- Mistinguette Blush: Bright pink
- Orgasm Blush: Peachy pink with golden shimmer
- Laguna Bronzer: Brown powder with golden shimmer
- Deep Throat Blush: Sheer peach
- Goulue Blush: Medium pink
This palette is an amazing gift- whether you’ve got a NARS lover on your list or someone who is just starting out with building their makeup collection, this palette is versatile and amazing quality across the board.
Having iconic shades like Laguna, Orgasm and Deep Throat is bittersweet though- it’s great for those who have longed to try them out, but the palette might not be worth the splurge if you already own some or all of them. Having said that, the entire palette really works beautifully together, and you won’t be disappointed in it either way.
Devotee is an amazing highlighter! It’s quite frosty though, so a little goes a long way (and the slight pink sheen pairs beautifully with all of the blushes). Laguna has been a cult classic bronzer for a long time, so it’s no surprise that they wanted to include it in the palette. It offers a soft, natural-looking glow to the complexion without being orange- it’s one of the few non-matte bronzers that I actually don’t mind contouring with either.
All of the blushes are stunning and quite pigmented as well. I think the range of shades is quite nice, although I would have liked to see a little less shimmer overall. Mistinguette is the only matte product in the whole palette, however the shimmer is quite soft and subtle, so it’s not too bad. Orgasm is a one of the most popular blushes in the world for a good reason- it’s flattering and gives the most gorgeous, youthful glow to the complexion. If you find it a little bit too shimmery, check out Deep Throat for a bit more of a subtle finish. Goulou is the most bold shade in the palette, and I think it’s going to be an awesome one for fall- the reddish pink shade looks amazing when used with a light hand!
I’m personally in love with this palette because I didn’t have any of the shades (shocker, right?), the quality is amazing and I love having options. It’s a great value too, especially since I have yet to actually finish an entire blush.
