The NARS Summer 2013 Collection features the NARS Lipstick ($26 USD / $30 CAD) in Tolède, a rosy, pink satin shade. This collection is full of 70′s-inspired bold color for an edgy, modern look. Most of the collection are new shade introductions to the permanent range, and they are available now from NARS.
Even though most of the NARS Summer 2013 Collection is crazy bold, bright and intense, this lipstick is very neutral, wearable and perfect for everyday wear. The satin texture has a slight sheen to it, and the formula is super creamy and comfortable to wear. The pigmentation is medium-to-full, which is nice because it can be worn lightly or layered for full-coverage opacity.
It’s truly a “my lips but better” shade for my skin tone… it looks like the color of my lips, only about a shade darker. I think it would make for an excellent bridal or prom lipstick for someone who is shopping around for something to enhance the look of their lips without being too drastic.
For being such a creamy, comfortable formula, it also has a pretty good wear time as well (about 3-4 hours). The only downside to this lipstick is that the scent totally reminds me of that Fruit Loop scented glue stick I used in elementary school. It’s a faint scent, and doesn’t stick around (thankfully)… but I really wish there was a better fragrance to it. This lipstick shade has joined the permanent NARS shade range, so don’t feel rushed to pick it up right away. If you do decide to pick it up though, you won’t be disappointed!
