The NARS Summer 2013 Collection features the NARS Multiple ($39 USD / $46 CAD) in Puerto Vallarta, a bronzy tangerine with golden shimmer. This collection is full of 70′s-inspired bold color for an edgy, modern look. Most of the collection are new shade introductions to the permanent range, and they are available now from NARS.
I’ve always been a huge fan of multi-tasking products, and the NARS Multiple is designed to be used as a cream blush, highlighter, lip color and even for use on the eyes and body. It is a unique, creamy formula that almost has a mousse-like texture, so it blends really easily no matter where you put it. They are much more sheer than traditional cream blushes or lip colors, just so that it can be used universally for a hint of color.
The only thing is- the color has to be awesome. That’s the biggest downfall of Puerto Vallarta- the color is so orange! It’s basically a bronzy tangerine shade with subtle gold shimmer, so while I think it does look nice on the cheeks in moderation, I found it to be just a little too orange for my liking.
The formula also feels a bit drying on lips. I really tend to use the Multiples mainly on my cheeks as a cream blush stick, because they are quick and easy to apply and usually quite fool proof. I wore this on my lips for not even an hour before they really felt dry and tight. Some of the NARS Multiples are fantastic for all sorts of uses, and a great portable companion because it can really perk up your look in seconds… however I just don’t think the actual shade of this one is a winner.
