Pack up your cutest summer sandals and floppy, wide-brim hat because NARS is about to take you to a luxurious getaway to French Riviera with their NARS Summer 2016 Under Cover Collection. NARS collaborated with contemporary artist Konstantin Kakanias to design the adorable, limited-edition packaging designs that are just as covetable as the makeup they encase. Each product features a unique design, complete with their own glamorous fashionista.
The collection is available online now for a limited time only. Under Cover features two blush duos, four eyeshadows and three brand new NARS liquid lipsticks.
The collection includes two Dual-Intensity Blushes, each compact featuring two luminous shades. Liberation is more of a bronzer/blush duo, with a shimmery pink shade and warm bronze shade, while Sexual Content features a soft peach and raspberry duo.
I found both palettes to be quite subtle, but the formula does allow you to apply them with a damp brush or sponge for a more intense, luminous effect.
The collection also includes four Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows. Tan Lines is a rich, hazelnut brown, Topless is a pale, off-white, Pool Shark is a periwinkle blue and Deep End is a shimmering seafoam teal.
All four shades are beautiful, but I really fell in love with Pool Shark. The soft, periwinkle blue looks so gorgeous as a sheer wash of color on the lid and is quite unique. For the price of these single eyeshadows, I definitely would go for one that is unlike anything else you own!
The formula is very similar to the blushes—they go on sheer and soft when applied dry, but really pop with intense color and shimmer when applied wet. It’s great being able to customize the intensity of the look you’re going for!
One of the most excited parts of this summer collection is the brand new Lip Cover—NARS’ take on a liquid lipstick. While these lippies are limited edition along with the rest of the collection, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a product in a seasonal collection before its official debut—so here’s hoping they will be coming back in more shades.
The collection includes three shades; Overheated, a dusty rose; Get Dirty, a light peachy rose; and Do Not Distrurb, a bright orange-red. The product comes in a tube that looks like a lipgloss with a doe-foot applicator, however there’s no indication of the shade except a small sticker on the bottom.
Lip Cover does exactly just that—it covers the lips in rich, saturated color. The texture is a satin-matte, which leaves a bit of a sheen on the lips when you apply it but later dries down to more of a matte finish. They are incredibly comfortable though, which is the number one most important factor for me in choosing a liquid lipstick.
They feel super velety and soft while fruit seed oil and vitamin E keep lips moisturized and comfortable. I particularlly love Overheated, which gives that trendy rosewood hue to the lips.
