It’s not very often that my fellow Canadians and I are able to boast about an exclusive treat just for us- but Nicole by OPI is launching a new collection only for Shoppers Drug Mart (there’s also 3 exclusive shades for Canadian Wal-Mart stores you can see here) that you’re definitely going to want to try out!

The Packaging

All Nicole by OPI nail lacquers come in these interesting, curvy bottles.  I actually like the design because the flat face allows you to get a better glimpse of the contained color at first glance.  They stand well, and present well on a vanity, but they don’t always pack well with other brands because of its unique design.

One of the shades in this collection that I received have their new “Perfect Stroke Brush”- a shape that I’ve never really seen before.  It’s a quite stiff, paddle-type brush that is tapered along the top.  I always loved OPI for their extra-wide brush, but this one takes it to a whole new level. My manicure is SO much easier as it allows me to create beautiful edges near the cuticles (a problem I struggle with a lot).  The only problem? My pinky finger is SO small, that the brush is almost too wide for it.  I still managed though!

The Formula

Just like any nail polish brand, the formula varies slightly between colours as some are meant to be more sheer, some more opaque, some thick and some thin, etc. I’m a fan of this line because it is comparable to other salon quality brands (the price reflects it too though), and I’m usually satisfied with 2 coats of polish (although I was super impressed by many of the polishes in this collection and how they looked with only one single coat)!

Drying time is average, and they layer really easily (by the time I’m finished doing one coat on all my fingers, they are ready for a second coat) and smoothly without being to sticky.

The Shades

This collection contains six shades of nail polish each containing 15mL / 0.5oz of product, in various red, pink and purple tones mainly.

That’s Totally Red-ical

This gorgeous pink-red has a creamy finish and is completely wearable with just one coat. I was blown away by the pigmentation! This is going to be my new go-to toe shade because it’s more of an updated and modern red shade.

Pink. Seriously

My favorite polish in the entire collection! Its a gorgeous cool-toned pink with a creamy finish and intense pigmentation as well.  This is the polish that has the new Perfect Stroke Brush and I found it SO quick and easy to apply. This shade reminds me of my beloved MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass!

Great Minds Pink Alike

This peachy-pink coral shade is so beautiful- it reminds me of a pink lemonade drink in the summer!  It’s the most sheer shade in the collection, but two coats still looked beautiful.  I love the purple reflect shimmer as well, it looks so fruity!

Look At Me, Look At Me

Like liquid metal! This polish is a super glittery silvery-purple shade with multi-color shimmer, but its very fine shimmer so it still applies like a regular polish (very liquidy, not thick and goopy like most glitter polishes).

Purple Yourself Together

A gorgeous purple grape shade with gold shimmer. Purple and gold is one of my favorite color combinations, and I love how this shade pulls them together! It’s sweetly unexpected and gives a gorgeous effect. Also a little more sheer compared to the other cream polishes, but beautiful none-the-less.

I Love You Cherry Much

Exactly as the name suggests- a perfect cherry red. It even has a bit of a flakie-type red & gold shimmer shimmer to it which gives it a neat effect.  It’s hard to tell in the photos, but this one looks much more stunning in real life with movement.

Overall I’m totally in love with this collection! It’s rare that I’m head over heels in love with every polish in a collection, but this one combines my favorite hues with amazing quality- especially in those cream shades! I’m also a huge fan of the new Perfect Stroke Brush, and can’t wait to see it popping up in more polish bottles soon! My fingers are currently adorned with Pink. Seriously, my favorite shade out of them all…but I know i’ll be switching it up often over the coming months!
