The OB for shu uemura 2013 Spring Sakura Collection includes four shu uemura UV Under Base Mousses ($46 CAD), one for each of the princesses. This limited-edition collection, inspired by Japanese artist OB, celebrates a new era in art with dreamy colors in a creative, fantasy world based on four Japanese princess characters. Available this month at shu uemura.
The UV Under Bases are one of the main focuses of the collection, alongside the Cleansing Oils. Each UV Under Base comes in a bottle similar to a hair mousse, and each is decorated with the unique art by OB. The different formulas are represented by a different princess and color. Each UV Under Base Mousse has SPF 30 and works great alone or under makeup.
The formulas include…
- UV Under Base Mousse POREraser in Pink (Pink bottle): Matches fair to light skin tones fora poreless, semi-matte finish.
- UV Under Base Mousse POREraser in Beige (Yellow bottle): Matches light to medium skin tones for a poreless, semi-matte finish.
- UV Under Base BB Mousse in BB Beige (Green bottle): Light coverage to even out skin tone and give a semi-matte finish.
- UV Under Base Brightening Mousse in Pink Purple (Blue bottle): Brightens skin tone with a luminous finish
The texture of these under bases is incredibly unique- I’ve really never put mousse on my face before, but it melted quickly and blended into my skin beautifully. It really does feel like hair mousse! They are quite fragranced which I’m not entirely a fan of, but the fresh, floral scent is quite soothing and calming, and the product doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin, so I can live with it. They also have a very strong ‘sunscreen‘ scent too, because of the SPF 30.
My favorite out of the four is the BB Mousse; I felt like it provided the most noticeable effects on my skin. It lightly evened out my skin tone, made my pores disappear and left my skin looking completely natural. I really liked the PORErasers as well (particularly the Yellow one; the Pink one was very pale). The Brightening Mousse is probably the scariest, because it is very pink and quite pigmented… so you’re really brightening and lightening your complexion slightly- it really does give a gorgeous, ethereal effect, although I wouldn’t recommend if for those with medium to deep skin tones.
I love the gorgeous artwork on the bottles, and the formula is really interesting- they are limited edition so if you’re curious about them I’d recommend trying one out. Unique, fun and effective- I think these are going to be fantastic in the summer as well!
